Effective January 1, 2024, a new law requires many companies doing business in the United States to report information to the U.S. government about who ultimately owns or controls them.

Please join FinCEN, a bureau of the U.S. Treasury Department, to learn more about new beneficial ownership information reporting requirements, which companies will need to file, how to file, and where to find resources to simplify compliance.

David King works in the policy division of the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), a bureau of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, where he drafts regulations for the Corporate Transparency Act to ensure smooth implementation of the Beneficial Ownership Information registry. Previously, David served as a Senior Advisor on the Economic Crimes team at Treasury’s Office of Technical Assistance where he oversaw projects to develop and enhance the work of foreign financial intelligence units, regulators, supervisors, law enforcement investigators, and prosecutors engaged in the fight against money laundering and terrorism financing (AML/CFT). Before that, he worked as a Financ

David received a master’s degree from Georgetown University in Security Studies, and a bachelor’s degree in Social and Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge in the UK.
