Luke Schneider, CEO of Fire Department Coffee, started his journey of service in the U.S. Navy as a shipboard firefighter. His love for helping others led him to become a firefighter in Rockford, Illinois. During this time, he discovered his passion for coffee and its importance in staying alert during long shifts. Luke and his wife, Kate, started roasting coffee to share with friends and family. They developed the Fire Department Blend, which became a sensation among colleagues and inspired Luke to start Fire Department Coffee in 2016. Despite humble beginnings, the company quickly gained popularity beyond Rockford. Luke's dedication to the business was unwavering, as he and a small team roasted coffee non-stop for three months. He even slept at the roastery and recruited fellow firefighters to cover shifts. But Fire Department Coffee was more than just a brand; Luke saw it as an opportunity to give back to sick and injured firefighters. He started the Fire Department Coffee Charitable Foundation to support first responders in need. Luke's journey is a testament to the power of dedication, community love, and a simple cup of coffee that warms the hearts of those who serve.
